Leyla Aliyeva was shown around the Hospital Centre for Oilmen

The Surgery and Organ Transplantology Center of the Central Oilmen Hospital was opened after overhaul repair and perfect technical procurement at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, November 15.

Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva was familiarized with the Center.

Mrs Aliyeva was presented flowers.

Head Doctor of the Hospital Habib Yuzbashiyev told L.Aliyeva that the Center provided with sophisticated medical equipment is second to none in Caucasus and Central Asia. With the Foundation`s support, about 3,000 patients have been examined here and 450 underwent open-heart surgery, 200 of which were performed at the Hospital, 250 in regions.

On the Foundation’s initiative, the Hospital’s Cardiovascular Surgery Center performs heart surgery in the diagnostic centers in regions. One of successful operations was realized in Bahmanli settlement of Fuzuli district located on the front line.

Mrs Aliyeva met with children going to have a heart surgery, patients suffering from chronic kidney deficiency and recovered after surgery, as well a patient having undergone the heart bypass surgery.

The Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was told 14 liver and 6 kidney transplantation operations have been accomplished at the Surgery and Organ Transplantology Center that has been dealing since 2008 with transplantation in Azerbaijan. One of kidney transplantations was successfully carried out in Nakhchyvan, while another in Shamakhy.

L.Aliyeva was briefed on the CUSA Excel equipment donated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Via ultrason and aspirator functions, this unique appliance makes a surgical procedure in liver transplantation easier.

Leyla Aliyeva met with medical personnel of the Center and group of patients who have been treated here. They expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva for the care and attention for healthcare development in the country and creation of such a center.
