“Blood has no nationality! Become a donor – save a life!” - a new event organised by AYOR in Moscow

At the Blood Donor Centre of Sechenov First State Medical University in Moscow (MGMU), the Azerbaijani Youth Organisation of Russia (AYOR) organised an event called “Blood has no nationality! Become a donor – save a life!”

Samir Aliyev – a senior AYOR official – noted that the event had involved over 250 students, and that the Azerbaijani students had been joined by students from Malaysia, Syria, Morocco, Iran, Israel, Abkhazia, Ossetia, Dagestan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. Among the donors were students from the Moscow Scriabin State Veterinary Science and Biotechnology Academy, students from Moscow State University, and other universities.

Professor Aliheydar Rahimov – the Director of the  Blood Donor Centre of Sechenov First State Medical University in Moscow – mentioned that the first event of this kind had taken place on the initiative of Mrs Leyla Aliyeva, the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Chair of AYOR. “We're carrying forward that initiative now. This event provides the Blood Donor Centre of the University with a very significant influx of blood, and blood components.”

Mrs Nigyar Ahundova, spokesperson on Humanitarian Affairs at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia, expressed her thanks to the Directorate of the Sechenov First State Medical University in Moscow, for their support of this AYOR event. Whilst doing so, she commented that AYOR now comprises sections dealing with medical, economic, cultural and other matters.
