Private exhibition of French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson opens at the Heydar Aliyev Center

A private exhibition of Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of the most eminent photographers of the 20th century, entitled “Paris” opens at the Heydar Aliyev Center, May 26.

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the exhibition.

After the speech by Clement Saccomani, the director of “Magnum Photos” Agency, acquaintance with the exhibition started. Over 80 works of the author taken in different years on various themes are demonstrated at the exhibition.

Clement Saccomani presented the book of the company he represents to Leyla Aliyeva.

Henri Cartier-Bresson was born in 1908 in the French city of Chanteloup. He is known as a back-bone of photojournalism. One of the founders of “Magnum photos” Agency, Henri Cartier-Bresson  took photos of the most significant events of the 20th century and a number of very famous people such as Irene and Frederic Joliot-Curie, Henri Matisse, Albert Camus, Paul Valéry, William Faulkner, Truman Capote, Joan Miró, Marilyn Monroe, Coco Chanel, Jean-Paul Sartre etc., along with common people.

Henri Cartier-Bresson passed away in 2004. His works are preserved in a number of world museums.

The exhibition will continue until July 27th.
