“AYOR’s Student Games” dedicated to the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games is launched in Moscow

The 2nd Student Games of AYOR was launched, following the initiative of chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) Leyla Aliyeva, on the eve of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games to be held May 12 to May 22 in Baku. Over 500 students from higher schools of Russia will compete for the first place. The programme of the Student Games, one of the most influential student sport competitions among Russia’s higher schools, include streetball, volleyball, marathon and table tennis.

Competitions on streetball and volleyball were held. In the streetball competitions, teams of the Russian State Administration University and the Moscow City Pedagogical University were awarded the 1st and 2nd places, respectively, while streetballers of the Russian Peoples Friendship University took the 3rd place. Vladislav Kamalov, a student of the Moscow City Pedagogical University, was recognised as the best player.

In the women’s volleyball competitions, the team of the M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University won the 1st place, students of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M.Sechenov took the 2nd place, while the team of the Russian Economic University named after G.V.Plekhanov under the Russian Federation Government was awarded the 3rd place. Aynur Guliyeva (MSU) and Sabina Kazimova (Moscow City Pedagogical University) were recognized as best players.

The winner of the competition among men was the team of the Russian State Administration University. Teams of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M.Sechenov and Moscow City Pedagogical University shared the 2nd and 3rd places.

As a tradition, the sports competitions will end on May 13 by a mini-football tournament for the Heydar Aliyev Cup.
