A workshop called “Biopsychology of Yoga” took place at “YARAT” Contemporary Art Centre.

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the workshop.

During the workshop, conducted by Acharya Sadananda Avadhuta, along with considering the connection between the mind and the body, impact of the glands and hormones on our character, behaviour and well-being were explained.

Hormones control our feelings. If the glands are not correctly tuned and produce hormones in more or less amounts, a human suffers from spiritual despondence, experiencing depression. Yoga teaches how to control the body and character harmonically. This allows more rapid development in spiritual, physical, and intellectual areas.

Acharya Sadananda Avadhuta has an experience of over 17 thousand hours of meditation. He taught 12 thousand people the fundamentals of yoga and meditation in the course of 15 years, training some 40 yoga trainers. He lived in yoga monasteries of Sweden and India for 3 years. He has been holding yoga workshops in a number of countries. Following his initiative, the Spiritual Development and Natural Treatment Centre was built for 500 people in Altay, Russia. He is the founder of a free online yoga and meditation course.
